AWARDS

7

Samsung Electronics, TSP Outstanding Journal Award
2021

Samsung Electronics proudly selected the excellent research accomplishments using laser thermography system on defect inspection for semiconductor package. Micro cracks in semiconductor surface (EMC) can be successfully visuallized in automatic manners. This award bestows one million KRW cash on only one recipient.

6

KSCE, Excellence in Drone Application Award
2020

The Korea Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE) proudly selected the excellent research accomplishments using drones for infrastructure management. A wall-attachment type UAV integrating the active thermography system was newly designed and used for the invisible defect detection of large-scaled infrastructure.

5

KIBSE, Outstanding Young Engineer Award
2019

The Korean Institute of Bridge and Structural Engineers (KIBSE) proudly select the young engineer who made an outstanding oral presentation on structural engineering. Each year, this award bestows one million KRW cash on only one recipient.

4

IIER, Excellence Paper Award
2018

The paper and presentation got the excellent paper award at the International Conference on Recent Innovations in Engineering and Technology held by the International Institute of Engineers and Researchers (IIER), Jeju, South Korea, February 19-20, 2018 for the paper entitled “Continuous-wave laser thermography for in-line inspection of micro-cracks in flexible OLEDs”.

3

KSCE, Excellent Paper Award
2016

The paper and presentation got the excellent paper award at the Korea Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE) 2016 Conference & Civil Expo, Seogwipo, South Korea, October 19-21, 2016 for the paper entitled “Development of a Line Laser Thermal Wave Imaging Technique for Fatigue Crack Inspection in a Steel Member under Dynamic Conditions”

2

KAIST, Undergraduate Research Program Award
2016

As my assistance, the undergraduate student, Dong-gun Kim, was awarded the Best Paper Award (Encouragement award) during the 2016 winter/spring undergraduate research program workshop at KAIST for his project entitled “Development of a rotating structure health monitoring system using the laser thermography”
